People’s Food Co-op is a member owned food cooperative that has been in operation since 1970. The members have always maintained a commitment to sustainable products and incorporated many green design elements into their recent expansion. These include a highly efficient ground source heat pump heating and cooling system, and the use of recycled, toxic free and durable construction materials. There are two ecoroofs on site, a sloped roof over the front entrance and a flat roof over a sun room on the south side of the building. This is one of our first projects from back when we were unpaid weekend warriors pulling buckets of soil on the weekends.
